TYPES OF LICENCE
Royalty-free
The term “royalty-free” does not mean that the images are free. You will still be required to pay a licence fee. This type of purchase provides you with a license which does not need to be renewed for additional use allowing you to use the image for many different uses.
You are however, restricted from sharing, selling or storing the image in any way that makes the image accessible to others. Royalty-free images can also be shared among internal groups within a particular organisation once you have acquired a Royalty-free organisation license. The cost of this type of licence depends upon the size of the organisation based on the number of staff.

Rights-managed
If you require image exclusivity you need to purchase specific right-managed license. Rights managed licenses allows you to license an image exclusively to protect yourself /or your client. A rights-managed license grants you the right to publish an image according to a specified set of agreed terms and the cost of the licence will be reflected in the terms agreed. These terms include circulation, print run, medium, geographical location, image size and the length of use.
It is important to remember that if you or your client wishes to reuse a rights-managed image for a different purpose to that specified in the licence, you will need re-license the image. Any uses not specified in the original or subsequent license require that you obtain a new license.
This may attract additional fees (royalties).

FREE LICENCES
Registered UK charities listed below may use any of the photographic images shown on this web site free of charge. Written permission is still required so you still need to contact me first and provide details of the usage of the image in order to avoid any copyright issues.
